lunch and learns
We stay well informed about innovative materials and building technologies. We regularly host Lunch & Learn events with vendors and product experts to give our designers opportunities to ask questions, compare notes, and become familiar with the latest advances in building science. We also use these events to discuss industry standards, address developments in our field and earn continuing education credits.
cooperative education
Our firm has a long history of extending cooperative education opportunities to college level design students enrolled in work study initiatives. Our firm’s founding principal was once a co-op student! We offer 6 month internships where students have the opportunity to actively participate in the field of residential architecture. From design to construction, students are exposed to the processes of building a home, and we are proud to support the learning process through direct experience. The firm’s co-op students have come from design schools spread all across North America.
professional development
Registration and accreditation can be an arduous process. The firm recognizes the effort involved in a staff member’s professional development. The firm encourages and supports professional development at every level. Our administration staff keeps clear and concise records of project activity, and our project teams and managers make every effort at diversifying on-the-job experiences in order to fulfill the requirements of programs such as the Intern Development Program (IDP). The firm works hard to accommodate employees who wish to continue their education, and eagerly helps to facilitate accreditation and testing efforts.
design critiques
We value the collective input of all our employees and want to bring their creative talent to bear on all our projects. We hold office wide design critiques for projects to give project teams new viewpoints and fresh approaches to consider. Design critiques open the floor to a free flow of ideas from every corner of our firm, fine tuning the design until it reaches its fullest potential.

The Cape and Islands are vibrant communities offering a wealth of year round activities. Our team members enjoy all that the region has to offer and can often be found partaking in local events, from open air concerts to the internationally renowned Falmouth Road Race. The firm recognizes that we all need to relax and have fun. The office regularly organizes company outings, holiday celebrations, and sporting events, as well as out of office activities such as kayaking and biking trips, sailing events, and art gallery visits.
