Master of Architecture & Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Northeastern University

James joined Hutker Architects in 2001 and has been involved in designing and managing residential projects on Martha’s Vineyard. His strong passion for modern architecture has helped influence the firms’ coined new regional vernacular style. His experiences with town zoning bylaws and permitting processes allow him to navigate the intricacies of complex projects.

James has developed and maintained the firms IT department for the Vineyard Haven office, in addition to leading the Stewardship, Energy, Technology group, Hutker Architects’ task force dedicated to sustainable design.

James is a licensed architect in Massachusetts and a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Boston Society of Architects, and registered with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.  He resides on Martha’s Vineyard with his wife and two daughters.
